dog's body, dog's body...

a person commented on how these dogs are probably miserable due to the "artist" responsible... i don't know, but if you ask me, this panda dog looks pretty damn happy.

this buffalo dog, well you can't really see his expression...

this camel dog does look a little bummed, but i mean that could be from anything...

although these three are my favorites, there are more of these poodles transformed, with an explaination... scope it out here

alumni success rate: fashion

i recently went to my college's website to try and find something funny i stumbled upon a few weeks ago, but found this as a consolation prize... the success stories of alumni, all the majors are listed to the left.. all with stories... i clicked on my major (as a currently unemployed (and severely not alone in my graduating class) "fashion design degree holder" of almost a year.)

there.
are.
no.
success.
stories.
way to go school. way. to. go.
(ps. i blocked out the school's name so i don't get sued. they didn't teach me that)

book wish list

here are a few books i'd like to add to my small collection... All of these books are related to food / the food industry...

1. The Great Starvation Experiment: The Heroic Men Who Starved so That Millions Could Live (by Todd Tucker) - this book, i've read... (borrowed) and it was by far the best i've ever read... and i'd like to again.

2. The Jungle (by Upton Sinclair) i think i was supposed to read this in high school, but ditched out on it instead... i think that could have been a dumb move on my part.

3. The Omnivore's Dilemma (by Michael Pollan) tons of people i know have read this and found it to be astonishing (with dull moments, but nevertheless, worth reading) so i think i'll go for it.

when i can afford to buy books again, those will be the first three :)

really? REALLY??!!?!?!

SO, i was in a small town which had a one movie, movie theater and we got to talking about how it happens that the biggest movies never get there when they first come out... i'm pretty sure i was told it depends on how much the movie costs for the theater to buy... the older it is, the less expensive... i went online and scoped it out... went to a site that offered ways to open a movie theater... i thought that'd help... not so much, but at the bottom, there was a link "how to propose in a movie theater" i was intrigued... so i clicked and found this...

A marriage proposal should be well prepared. Not only does it convince a woman to switch her title from girlfriend to bride, it is also a symbol of how the man sees the marriage. Giving the engagement ring plainly can be taken as a lack of effort, which may result in a failed marriage. Impress your woman by presenting a cool and creative marriage proposal. Running out of ideas? See if you can deviate a proposal out of these three ideas.

The Movie Theater Proposal
Movie dates are pretty normal, in fact, some couples define it as the default date. Remember, most people fail to expect something special from regular things or activities, which you can take full advantage of. Contact the management of the movie theater you frequently visit. Tell them your planning to propose to your girlfriend inside the theater. They will probably agree, provided you give them extra cash. Once you have secured the management’s approval, create a movie slide that professes your feelings toward your partner. Beneath your message, include the obligatory words, “Will You Marry Me?” The slide must be shown right after the movie, so your efforts will also receive a standing ovation from the film’s audience.

The Dinner Proposal
Dinner is a time when you expect to be stuffed in a lovely venue. Why not make the night even lovelier by blessing it with your marriage proposal? Talk to the restaurant owner regarding your proposal. Upon getting his or her approval, place the engagement ring in a small elegant container. Ask the chef to use it as a cake topping, which will be ordered after eating the main course. Wait personnel will deliver the cake, concealed by a dish cover, and deliver vague poetic lines that don’t give away the proposal. Reveal the cake to your girlfriend and proceed with your proposal.

The Eiffel Tower Proposal
Paris is the world’s most romantic city, so you might as well situate your proposal there. Communicate with city management regarding your proposal. Secure the permits and other requirements needed. Once you’re cleared, assemble the words “I Love You ! Will You Marry Me?,” on a tall building near the Eiffel Tower, using bright lights. Have a fireworks display setup right behind your proposal message. When everything has been arranged, go to the top of the Eiffel Tower with your girlfriend. Bring binoculars. View the city using your binoculars, as you cue the fireworks display. Give your girlfriend the binoculars and tell her to watch the fireworks. She will see your proposal, which will reduce her to tears. When she turns around to face you, you’ve already knelt down, asking for her hand in marriage.
Surprise, Grandeur and Romance

An effective marriage proposal should have a balance of surprise, grandeur and romance, as evidenced by these three ideas. Build on them and make your proposal appropriate to your girl’s qualities and personality. Once you pull it off, you will certainly hear wedding bells soon.

really?
